Getting started for creators/artists

To use Asteroid Protocol, you'll need the following:

1. A crypto wallet: Asteroid Protocol is optimized to work with Leap Wallet or Keplr Wallet. Download Leap Wallet here and learn how to set it up here. Download Keplr Wallet here and learn how to set it up here.

2. ATOM tokens: All Asteroid transactions happen on the Cosmos Hub blockchain. In order to execute a transaction on the blockchain, you must pay a small fee with the Cosmos Hub token, which is called ATOM (typical transactions cost around $0.01, but as much at $0.30 if you're uploading a large image on-chain). You can get ATOM directly within Leap Wallet or Keplr Wallet by clicking the "buy" button. If those options do not work in your jurisdiction, you can buy ATOM on any major cryptocurrency exchange including Coinbase, Binance, OKX, Kucoin, Crypto.com and Kraken. Once you've purchased ATOM on an exchange, you can withdraw it directly into your Leap Wallet or Keplr Wallet.
