Creating your first inscription

Create a NFT Inscription

Prerequisites:

• A wallet (Keplr or Leap) with a small amount of ATOM to cover gas fees

• Don’t have ATOM? You can get some by clicking the "buy" button in Leap or Keplr or from a centralized exchange such as Coinbase or Binance

Steps:

1. Visit the inscription creation page on AsteroidProtocol.io and click "connect your wallet" to connect with the website

2. Select a file to upload (up to 550kb)

3. Optionally add a title and description

4. Click inscribe and approve the transaction in your wallet.

That’s it! Your image will now live forever on Cosmos Hub. And you’ll be able to view or transfer it from the wallet screen in the app. If you want to list your inscription for sale, you can do that in the inscription marketplace.

Rarities and traits

With the introduction of traits on Asteroid Protocol, rarity scores can be applied to individual pieces within a collection. The math used to calculate rarity scores is defined in the NFT spec.

The characters listed below are supported as traits for your inscriptions/NFTs on Asteroid Protocol.

Supported trait name characters:

• a lowercase letter (a-z),

• an uppercase letter (A-Z),

• a digit (0-9),

• a hyphen (-)

• a space ( )

Supported trait value characters:

• a lowercase letter (a-z),

• an uppercase letter (A-Z),

• a digit (0-9),

• a hyphen (-)

• a period (.)

• a space ( )
